Brown is getting a bunch of lawyers to help its case. Lawyers often make peoples heads hurt and tune out. However, I know more lawyers than you can shake a stick at. Yale Law, Harvard Law, BC Law, BU Law, Stanford Law, Hastings, U. Chicago, Northwestern, Columbia, NYU, Brooklyn Law, Yeshiva, Georgetown, George Washington, UVA, and on and on. (Where did Browns lawyers go? Oh yeah, they dont have a law school) I believe it was Walter Benjamin, or perhaps Bruce Lee, who said: So you want to fight? Fight me!

But heres the thing. I dont have time for a fight. Im starting classes next week. And, although they dont know it Brown doesnt have time either. Oh, they could spend far more on lawyers than it would cost to extend financial aid to the need-blind ineligible and make the lawyers on their side feel bad about defending wrong. But arent they supposed to be busy educating people?

Is this mission-drift? Is this a bit like the Iraq war itself?
