On Saturday we got up late and got ready for the wedding. (Ill write more about the actual wedding in its own entry.) Nyas dad gave us a ride into town for it and it lasted until after 11PM. At the end, we got on a shuttle bus provided by the couple (my belt was loose and my pants came down getting out of my wheelchair to get on) and they drove us to a Metro stop to go back to Bethesda.

A friend thoughtfully got out first and went ahead to make sure the elevator was working. He gave us the all clear and we went down. However when we went to buy tickets at the turnstile, the woman in the token booth said that the elevator down to the platform had been out all day. No sign indicating this was posted on the elevator down from the street. So basically, we had just taken a pointless trip down and given up our ride for no reason.

The token lady said she could call us an accessible shuttle to take us to the next Metro stop, where presumably the elevator would be working. But we were really quite tired and sick of the bullshit. We thought a cab to Bethesda would be exorbitant (we found out the next day its not really, but we didnt know that yet) and Nya had noticed a hotel on the corner. So we once again passed up bothering Nyas father late at night and checked into a hotel.

Again we got a handicapped-accessible room and again we slept in late. In the morning we actually took a cab to Nyas dads (it wasnt nearly as much as wed feared) and waited in front of the house for a van to the airport talking with him on that warm day. Our flight back wasnt nearly as delayed.
